In Loving Memory
of

He gave the ultimate gift, without hesitation
Because his dream was fighting for our nation
For our freedom, yours and mine, he fought for us all
But God needed him more and then came the call

He gave the ultimate gift, with a love for the Marines
Forever twenty years old, but only a boy it seems
God took him to keep, in his arms for ever more
We will all remember, his bravery for sure

He gave the ultimate gift, in his uniform tall and proud
His cover carefully arranged, right above his brow
His gloves of white, on a pair of strong hands
We could clearly see, the boy was now a man

He gave the ultimate gift, leaving his family behind
Thoughts of sorrow, thoughts of pride, always on their minds
Pictures and memories are all that is left
For the love that has been shared, we are surely blessed

He gave the ultimate gift, being nothing but the best
Determined not to fail, passing every test
He was among the awesome, The Few-The Proud-The Marines
Now he is with God, and wearing angels wings

He gave the ultimate gift, a military goodbye
Underneath our nations flag, a tear in everyone's eye
Our final salute, for the sacrifice he made
Remembering always, the ultimate gift he gave

If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven's scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
by United States Marines...
