In 2003 year the Big Red Band received new uniforms.  At U.I.L marching contest, the band received a division two.  The band also did well at U.I.L contest and sight-reading.  They received a division one at contest, and a division two at sight-reading. Several band students competed in solo and ensemble.  Austin and Eric Barton received division ones on their solos.  Miranda Parsons, Haley Butts, and Alicia Thurman, received  a division one on their ensemble.  These students competed at the State Solo and Ensemble Contest.  Ryan Green, Lauren Yeater, and Chelsea Griffin also made division ones on their solos.
